Why you need a blood pressure monitor

Whether you just want to track your health or you have already been diagnosed with high blood pressure (also known as hypertension), it is necessary to have a self-taking blood pressure kit at home.

Especially for patients who have sustained hypertension, regular blood pressure measurement can go a long way toward assessing whether their anti-hypertension treatment is sufficiently effective. Compared with the measurement that is conducted in a hospital or clinical setting, a long period of self-measurement provides a comprehensive detailed set of BP (blood pressure) readings that can better represent a patient’s true blood pressure.

Surely, home-based blood pressure monitors are more portable. Now there are 3 common types of home-based blood pressure monitors – upper arm type, wrist type, and finger type. But among them, the finger type is the most portable; but based on the comprehensive analysis of portability and accuracy, the wrist type is the most acceptable.

As explained above, as long as you can often measure your blood pressure at home with a portable and accurate blood pressure monitor, you can be confident that multiple periods of readings measured over several days/months are more reliable than those measures taken during a single visit to a clinic or hospital.

Functions and features:

Audio broadcasts: from start to finish, it provides automatic broadcasts with English audio. Once the extremely high/low heart rate or irregular heart rhythms are detected, users will be alerted in time.

Two-person memory records: multiple family members may have the same need to track their blood pressure. And if different persons’ readings are mixed without proper management, it makes no sense; under this consideration, this device is designed to be capable of tracking 2 users’ data with date and time stamps and storing up to 99 groups of blood pressure readings per person simultaneously.

Accuracy: the chip adopts the SOC (Stages Of Change) algorithm to ensure the stable accuracy of the measurement.

Easiness of reading: we know a lot of users of blood pressure monitors are elderly people, they suffer from poor eyesight, and a high-resolution large screen is more friendly to them; besides that, our blood pressure monitors display with a significantly large font-size, rational and intuitive arrangement of data, and good-quality backlight screen. In particular, with a bright backlight screen, users can easily see the readings at dark night just like in the daytime.

Easiness-of-operation: users can quickly learn to operate the device; users just need to push the start button, then they can start to check their blood pressure instantly. This is particularly convenient for old people.

Portability: it is designed with a fine appearance and compact volume. Users can carry it around easily.

How to use:

(Spot the position where the distance between the wrist and the palm is about 10~15mm;)

(Wrap the cuff around your left or right wrist. Attach the cuff to your wrist from down to up.)

(While you are measuring blood pressure, make sure the blood pressure monitor and your heart stay on the same horizontal level.)

(Press the start button to measure.)

Warm tips:

  • Rest for 5~10 minutes before measuring.
  • Keep your body relaxed before measuring.
  • Before taking your measurement, avoid exercising, smoking, intaking foods, and drinking alcohol/coffee/black tea.
  • The blood pressure will significantly rise when you have an urgent need to urinate. Especially acute retention of urine can cause over-distension of the bladder, which in turn leads to a sudden rise in blood pressure. So make sure you do not feel the need to urinate before taking your blood pressure.
  • Don’t grip tightly when you are measuring blood pressure.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Do I have to sit to use it?

Almost all kinds of blood pressure monitors sold for home use are based on a resting pulse rate. Generally, the internationally acknowledged best posture is to sit still to apply the cuff on your wrist while measuring your blood pressure.

  • Can this device fit a child?

Since the blood pressure cuff is specially designed to accommodate a wide range of adults’ wrist sizes, we don’t recommend using it on children. Surely, it is safe for use on any person; however, the measured results on children can not be as accurate as the ones on adults.

  • My patients are too sensitive to movement; if they move slightly while we are measuring their blood pressure, will this lead to an inaccurate BP reading?

As long as the cuff is properly applied to their wrist, even if they slightly move around, you can still get an accurate result.

  • Can I take readings from any wrist?

Yes, you can use the blood pressure monitor on either your right or left wrist.

  • May I know the suitable range of wrist sizes?

The blood pressure cuff can fit a user’s wrist size ranging from 13.5cm to 21.5cm;
